Release Date: 21 February 2019

Barba Azul (Blue Beard), recounts Charles Perrault's version of the story.

There was an old and really ugly man that had a really long blue beard. He found two sisters and decided to propose to them. The girls are not interested, but he takes them out to party and they have a good time. And the little sister starts to reconsider the offer. So she decides to marry the man and have a great and happy ceremony... Which of course means something will be horrible.

The man informs his wife that he must travel and tells her to have a good time. Before parting, he gives her all the house keys. The wife notices a particular one and asks what is that one for. He tells him it is for a closet that she should never enter. And warns her that he will get really angry if he finds out she did.

So she has a good time enjoying the mansion's amenities alongside her sister. But she can’t resist the temptation and decides to open the forbidden door. What she finds in there completely traumatizes her. Blood on all the walls... And the corpses of all his former wives. And while she was still in shock from that scene, she accidentally drops the key in the room, and gets stained with blood. And no matter how hard she tries, she cannot clean it.

And suddenly her husband comes back. He immediately asks for his keys and notices blood on the special one. He immediately realizes what happened, which means his wife's fate is sealed. She asks him for some time to pray, and he allows for a few minutes. She runs up to her sister to see if her brothers might arrive to help her out. But sadly, there is no trace of their brothers. The time runs out and the husband takes his wife by the hair and prepares to cut her neck. But at that same moment her brothers open the door to see the scene that was about to unfold.

They saved her and killed her husband right then and there. This means that now she is the sole heir of his fortune, and eventually marries another man.

Tropes

  • Antagonist Title: The title refers to the killer man, but the main character is actually his current wife trying to survive his rage.
  • The Bluebeard: Of course, the eponymous man, who keeps a secret room with the remains of all his previous wives.
  • Spoof Aesop: Two this time.
    • You should always add a drain in the room where you make your sacrifices so it won't get dirty.
    • Maybe you should be suspicious if a man has become a widower 7 times already.
