The final battle at Midway commenced. Both sides, Azur Lane and Sakura Empire gave it their all, both seemingly evenly matched. Eventually, Azur Lane gain the upperhand and won Midway while Sakura Empire retreat, leaving their wounded behind.
- Half the Man He Used to Be: A non-living example. Tennessee uses her ship to bisect Hiryuu's carrier into half.
- Oh, Crap!: Kaga's fears of Azur Lane being a threat is fully realized in this battle and immediately begs Akagi to order a retreat lest they want to face being sunk.
- One-Man Army: Thorson inspires Azur Lane by telling them the story of Alvin York who fought off 30 combatants. This got them to press on against Sakura Empire's might.
- Pillar of Light: Akagi and Kaga releases a giant fire pillar to display their power although it hardly matters once Azur Lane get their act together.
- Underestimating Badassery:
- Colorado is not too pleased to hear that the Sakura Empire are sending a miniscule number of aircrafts at them. She and the Big Seven unleash their full power to get the point across.
- After that display, Kaga warns Akagi to no longer underestimate Azur Lane. The latter finally agrees.
- Unstoppable Rage: Both Laffey and Tennessee completely demolish everything in their path to avenge their loved ones.
- Villainous Breakdown: After now seeing that Midway is lost, Akagi goes on an angry tirade before trying one last attempt to kill the enemy commander. It didn't work.
