Recap / Castle S 6 E 14 Dressed To Kill

Go To

The murder of an assistant at a top fashion magazine brings Castle and Beckett into a tangled web of suspicion and corporate politics - and with the magazine's formidable editor-in-chief, who still remembers Beckett's brief career as a model.

  • Actor Allusion: Rob Estes guest stars. He is known for his role as Detective Chris Lorenzo on Stephen J. Cannell's detective series, Silk Stalkings, which had similar Will They or Won't They? tension between the main characters to Castle and Beckett.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Matilda King is based on Anna Wintour, the infamously demanding and eccentric editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: Matilda asks Beckett to model a fancy wedding dress after the original model failed to show up. She later gifts Beckett the dress after the case is solved.
  • Popcultural Osmosis Failure: Castle and Beckett have both heard of Matilda King (Beckett having met her) while Esposito has not.
Castle: Seriously? You've never heard of Matilda King?
Esposito: I'm betting that most real men haven't.
  • She Knows Too Much: The victim, Ella, was killed because she threatened to expose that a designer plagiarized a dress design from her, and said dress was set to be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine.
