Calvin's mom gets sick for a week. Calvin's dad and Calvin try to help her and take care of themselves, with limited success.

- Breakfast in Bed: Calvin tries to provide his sick mom with this. It goes about as well as most of his forays into the kitchen.
- Dads Can't Cook: Calvin's dad says he'll handle the cooking until mom feels better, saying that he survived fine for years before getting married. Emphasis on 'survived', of course, given he quickly proves he's only really capable of canned soup and frozen waffles.
- Noodle Incident: Calvin brings his mom breakfast in bed, saying he made eggs, toast and orange juice. When Mom asks where the last two are, Calvin says that Dad said he shouldn't explain that till she got better.
- Pregnancy Scare: Hobbes wonders if Calvin's mom might be pregnant. The parents, however, don't seem to believe this is a possibility.
