- Bittersweet Ending: Cynthia is arrested for JJ's murder, but did it believing he was Rachel's rapist and so must also live with the guilt of killing an innocent man, while Scott Jackson is exposed as Rachel's true rapist, but they can't arrest him due to the complainant being deceased, though his wife Lynn plans to divorce Scott and leave him penniless.
- Justice by Other Legal Means: Jackson's wife, Lynn, intends to divorce him and take him for everything due to JJ's murder ultimately being a result of his actions.
- Karma Houdini: Subverted. While Scott can't be arrested for raping Rachel due to her suicide, Lynn intends on divorcing him and taking him for everything.
- Mistaken Identity: Rachel, in her drugged state, mistook Scott for JJ.
- Ms Fan Service: Allie is shown at the end swimming in a black one-piece.
- Murder by Mistake: Rachel's sister, Cynthia, murdered JJ believing him to be Rachel's rapist. As it turns out, his father Scott was the real rapist, meaning Cynthia killed an innocent man.
