Recap / Bluey Charades

Go To

Bluey and Bingo spend the day at Nana's and want everyone to play charades, but their cousins Muffin and Socks are too young to understand the rules. Nana must quickly think of how to keep the game on track.

Tropes:

  • Doting Grandparent:
    • Nana is willing to bend over backwards to let Muffin charade as a ballerina, despite how she's supposed to act as a frog like on the card she drew. She's even willing to give Muffin a tutu and play "proper ballerina music", which goes against the game's rules.
    • Nana had one in her own grandmother (the kids’ great-great grandmother), calling her "the nicest Nana you'd ever hope to meet". In fact, she inspired Nana to treat her own grandchildren as dotingly as her grandmother did in life.
  • Hidden Depths: For being only three years old, Muffin demonstrates a passion and talent for ballet dancing. It's little wonder she's so adamant to get the ballerina card.
  • Running Gag: During the game of Charades, Muffin's only guesses for what Bluey and Bingo are portraying are either a chicken or a squirrel, even though it's obviously neither of those things.
  • Spoiled Brat: Downplayed. Although not as bad as it could be, Muffin is very insistent on being a ballerina for the game of Charades, and even having a costume and music to act it out, despite how this goes against the game's rules. Per Nana's request, they go easy on Muffin, giving her what she demands and pretending they don't know she's supposed to be a ballerina. Some good comes out of this, as it allows Socks to finally have a moment where she can make a correct guess.
