On a very hot day, Wayne decides to take Betty, Travis (Kenan Thompson) and Violet to the movies to cool off. Wayne's old raggedy truck has air conditioning, but it only puts out hot air. At the movie theater, they watch Haul Force One, in which a yellow truck just like Wayne's saves the day.
In the parking lot, a rich kid offers to buy Wayne's truck. Wayne refuses, until the kid writes a big check. Violet is impressed by the amount on the check, but still advises Wayne to turn it down. Wayne sells his truck.
Wayne imagines himself at dinner with his new truck at a restaurant, and the kid a few tables away with Wayne's old truck. The next day, Wayne talks to Violet about this. She concocts a scheme to recover the truck.
Meanwhile, Jenny and Brenda end their friendship of many years. After work, Jenny hangs out with Louise; the two of them complain about Brenda. The next day at the restaurant, Louise fires Brenda, who then breaks a broom and throws a brick through the window.
Later Brenda apologizes to Jenny by trying to repair a shirt of Jenny's she ruined, and writing "I'm sorry" in purple on the back. Jenny says the shirt is unwearable, but she accepts Brenda's apology. Jenny decides she'll convince Louise to rehire Brenda. Jenny doesn't quite know what to say, but there's no need to say anything: Brenda is the only one who knows how to deal with the possums that occasionally plague the restaurant.
