BREAK THE BORDER provides examples of:

  • Huge Schoolgirl: Several of the players are tall but Miyu takes the cake at 185 cm (6'0).
  • New Season, New Name: BREAK THE BORDER dropped the subtitle rebirth of ECHOES when it resumed serialization on IMAZINE.World.
  • The One Guy: Sei is a trans boy on an all-girls basketball team, but it doesn't bother him.
  • Pronoun Trouble: Sei prefers the masculine pronoun ore, but he only uses it in his head because he's been teased for using it. Sometimes he slips up.
  • Spiky Hair: Sei has spiky, messy hair fitting his energetic personality.
  • Tears of Joy: Sei is inspired to tears while seeing Asuka play basketball.
  • Tiny Schoolboy: Sei is 156 cm (5'1) due to being a trans boy. He's the shortest member on his all-girls basketball team but makes up for his height with his ability.
  • Trans Tribulations: The series is about a high schooler named Sei who's on an all-girls basketball team. The end of the first chapter reveals that Sei is a closeted trans boy. Though not the main crux of the manga, Sei's dysphoria and feelings towards gender play a role in the story.
