Recap / Biker Mice From Mars S 3 E 10 Once Upon A Time On Mars

Go To

While attempting to thwart Lawrence Limburger's plan to move Earth into Plutark's orbit with the Plutarkian Tug Transformer, Throttle, Vinnie, and Modo explain to Charley the full details on what they went through on Mars before they left.

This is the original series' second and final three-part episode as well as the final episode in general.

This episode contains examples of

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Stoker gets brainwashed after Karbunkle uses his Mindbender beam on him.
  • Brick Joke: When Rimfire and Modo are contacted by Modo's mother, she replies to her grandson's cry of "Oh, mama" with "Don't you mean 'Oh, grandmama'?" Later, Rimfire shouts "Oh, grandmama" while helping the Martian freedom fighters fight back against the Sand Raiders and Plutarkians.
  • Call-Forward: When Limburger and Karbunkle search through some villains on a monitor to find one they can summon to aid in conquering Mars, several villains the Biker Mice would encounter after arriving on Earth appear, such as Evil Eye Weevil and the Pit Boss. Also, when Dominic T. Stilton's castle crumbles, Limburger remarks that such a thing can get very annoying after a while, unknowingly alluding to the show's Running Gag of Limburger Plaza being destroyed at the end of every episode.
  • Chew-Out Fake-Out: Carbine at first appears to be telling Rimfire off for constantly disobeying direct orders, but then she tousles his hair and informs him that his actions prove he has the makings of a true freedom fighter.
  • The Mole: The freedom fighter called Mace turns out to be a Rat using a mask to disguise himself as a Martian mouse so that he can warn the Plutarkians about the freedom fighters' attacks in advance.
  • Neat Freak: The Plutarkian known as Dominic T. Stilton detests filthiness and always carries napkins around to wipe away smears and such. He even describes Greasepit's ability to drip grease as "disgusting".
  • Origins Episode: It was already stated that the Biker Mice were survivors of a war on Mars with the Plutarkians and that Modo's bionic arm and eyepatch were the result of being experimented on by Dr. Karbunkle, but this episodes actually shows the events in full detail and also explains how Greasepit and Fred the Mutant ended up in Limburger's employ.
  • Planetary Relocation: The Biker Mice have to thwart Lawrence Limburger's plan to move Earth into Plutark's orbit with the Plutarkian Tug Transformer. While on this mission, they recall how they once had to save Mars from a similar fate.
  • Running Gag: Every time Rimfire is disobedient, the person he disobeyed remarks "Remind me never to have kids". This is done by Carbine, then by Rimfire's uncle Modo, and done preemptively by Rimfire when his disobedience ticks off Harley. The final occurrence of the gag has Rimfire say "Remind me never to have kids" when Stoker and Modo still deny him respect in spite of his help in fighting the enemy because of his age.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: Throttle, Vinnie, and Modo's latest adventure serves as a framing device for flashbacks showing what the heroes went through during the Plutarkian invasion before they left Mars.
