"You found me out... I'm not really a god... I'm *cough* *cough* just an ordinary... eternal, omniscient, superintelligent being."
The Sun God, Futurama: The Game

We tend to think about non-human intelligences in two distinct categories which we label "scientific" and "supernatural" respectively. We think, in one mood, of Mr. Wells' Martians...or his Selenites. In quite a different mood we let our minds loose on the possibility of angels, ghosts, fairies, and the like...one realised how great a comfort it had been—how it had eased the burden of intolerable strangeness which this universe imposes on us by dividing it into two halves and encouraging the mind never to think of both in the same context.

Daniel: I think maybe I know what the Ori are - who they are. I'm not denying they are very powerful beings, but if I'm right, they're not gods. They're like the ascended beings I know. They simply have a greater understanding of the knowledge of the universe.
The Doci: What is a god, but a being that is worshiped by those beneath? Is great knowledge, power, understanding not enough for you to revere the Ori?
