You think you know who did, but you don't know who did it...

These Are Their Stories is a podcast hosted by Kevin Flynn and Rebecca Lavoie that focuses on the Law & Order franchise. In each episode, Kevin and Rebecca (along with a guest) discuss an episode from one of the main series (Law Andorder, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent), summarizing its plot and discussing its details (and possible flaws) before describing a real life event that inspired the episode.

These Are Their Stories contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Catchphrase: Plenty, often coming in the form of sound bites:
    • Various actors in the episode are introduced under "Hey, It's That Guy/Girl", "Before They Were Famous", "It's our very special guest star!", and "Repeat Offender" (for actors who appeared in a previous episode TATS covered)
    • Certain characters appearing have gained their own sound bites, including Wong ("Bring it Wong, he's not wrong!"), Skoda ("Skoda, Sko-Sko-Sko-Skoda!"), and Serena Southerlyn ("No, she's not a lesbian!"
    • Whenever someone (typically Rebecca) goes on about a topic that Kevin doesn't find interesting, it'll typically earn a response of Hey, that's great.
  • Content Warning: When TATS is going to cover an episode of SVU, they'll sometimes note that the episode they're covering "focuses on fictional crimes against fictional people. So if you find that especially heinous, you may want to listen to another one of our episodes." They'll also include content warnings within episode descriptions for particular triggers, including school shootings and usage of slurs.
  • Values Dissonance: Moments from older episodes that are problematic in one way or another are pointed out and critiqued by the podcast.
