Basic Trope: Someone gradually has their body parts replaced by prosthetics.
- Straight: Alice loses a few fingers, and gets prosthetics to replace them. Then, she loses an eye and gets a prosthetic eye to replace it. This keeps going over a period of time until eventually she has two prosthetic arms, two prosthetic legs, and a cybernetic eye.
- Exaggerated: It gets worse from there; she eventually becomes a Full-Conversion Cyborg.
- Downplayed: Alice gets cybernetic replacements for her fingers and eye on two separate occasions, but that's it.
- Justified:
- Alice is constantly getting severely injured to the point in which parts of her body have to be amputated and replaced.
- Someone is doing this to Alice unwillingly as a way to torture her.
- Inverted: Alice has several prosthetic body parts, but is gradually getting them replaced with original organic parts.
