Basic Trope: An old character with loathe-worthy looks and/or behavior.
- Straight: Bob is a wrinkly, scarred senior whose demeanor creeps Alice and the others out.
- Exaggerated:
- Bob is so devastatingly hideous and despicable that others refuse to come in contact with him.
- Bob's appearance makes everyone around him drop dead upon seeing him.
- Every single old man and woman is an unsightly freak with a thirst for watching people while they shower.
- Downplayed: Bob is only mildly ugly and senile, but is otherwise accepted as a normal person by the other characters.
- Justified:
- Bob developed various diseases (physical and mental) that contributed to his appearance and/or personality.
- Bob never got in the habit of maintaining his own hygiene.
- Someone else made him this way against his will.
- Inverted:
- Everyone except Bob is ugly and freaky.
- The seniors are the normal people, and everyone who isn't a senior is a hideous criminal. Even babies.
- Subverted: Bob is seen mysteriously hanging out with other shady people in a dark alley, but they're just a casual group of old friends who want to take their time away from youthful people and discuss their favorite activities as seniors.
- Double Subverted: ...And then it turns out they're actually plotting a murder act.
- Parodied: Bob is laughed at and bullied by the other seniors a la "school kids style" (wedgies, wet willies, sticking "kick me" onto his back and other acts of the sort) for looking like a doofus.
- Zig Zagged: Only some seniors are ugly and creepy while others are beautiful.
- Averted: Bob doesn't look or act like an old creep.
- Enforced: An executive producer makes a movie adaptation from a book featuring an innocuous old man, whom he turns into a detestable person hated by the rest of the cast.
- Lampshaded: "Boy, Bob is really creepy for an old man."
- Invoked: "We need a character that gives off bad vibes." "What about an ugly old man whom the other characters will hate because he's such a creep?" "Good idea!"
- Exploited: ???
- Defied:
- Bob puts on makeup or tries to act normal so he doesn't creep others out.
- Other characters openly praise him and cheer him on, even when they shouldn't.
- Discussed: "Sometimes, a man grows up into an ugly old creep like our Bob. It's a known fact."
- Conversed: "Why do some seniors have to be so fucking despicable and nasty?!"
- Implied: We never get to see Bob, but Alice's stories about him sound like Bob's a creepy and ugly old man.
