Basic Trope: Someone uses something other than a tissue/handkerchief for blowing their nose.

  • Straight: Charlie blows his nose on the curtains in his window.
  • Exaggerated: Charlie blows his nose on a series of ridiculous things, such as clothing, a tent, and even live animals.
  • Downplayed:
    • Charlie blows his nose on his sleeve.
    • Charlie only wipes his nose on something he shouldn't.
  • Justified:
    • Charlie didn't have any tissues around, and had a runny nose due to a Plot Allergy, a cold, or from crying.
    • Charlie is fairly immature and/or shameless and doesn't care where he has to blow his nose.
    • Charlie dislikes the curtains, and he's blowing his nose on them as a form of Only Useful as Toilet Paper.
  • Inverted: Charlie uses tissues and handkerchiefs for things aside from their intended uses.
  • Subverted: Charlie is about to blow his nose on the curtains, but Alice offers him a tissue.
  • Double Subverted: He refuses the tissue, and blows his nose on the curtains anyway.
  • Parodied: Charlie blows his nose on something that would otherwise be impossible to blow one's nose on.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Charlie just blows his nose in a tissue/handkerchief.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: "Charlie, that's disgusting! Here, use this tissue instead!"
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???

Sorry about your curtains! I Couldn't Find a Tissue!
