  • The movie takes a hard left turn with Uncle Rudi's torture of Napoleon Solo by strapping him into a chair and electrocuting him. But before he does that, he takes the time to show Solo his scrapbook of previous torture sessions he took part in during World War II, inflicting horrific pain on prisoners of war and concentration camp prisoners. The entire time, he speaks with such loving pride of his sadistic work and you can see the growing horror in the usually calm and composed Solo's eyes when he realizes what a lunatic Rudi truly is, and Rudi promises to fill a whole page with Solo's death throes. And then, the torture starts...
    • When Illya shows up, it doesn't end well either, with Rudi burning to death in his own chair due to faulty wiring]] after Solo and Kuryakin electrocute him with it for a while.
    • Napoleon then takes time out and talks to Illya about how some people outside of the fascists want people like Uncle Rudi to work for them; it's implied they're their own superiors.
  • Illya Kuryakin's backstory. His father was arrested and sent to die in a Gulag when Illya was 10 years old, his mother became "extremely popular among [his] father's friends" (read: became a prostitute for them), and as a result of the emotional trauma Illya started having psychotic episodes.
  • The barely disguised pleasantries between Kuryakin and Solo near the end, when upon realizing that one of them still has the disk, they reach for their guns amid tense music and get ready to gun the other down in the hotel room. Fortunately, they take a different option.
