  • At one point in the game, Yasna encounters several automated, multi-legged tanks called Anti-Mats, one of which appears to be obliterated while the other one is intact but seemingly deactivated. She approaches the one that's intact and goes through it's data log presented as framed photographies. The files detail the Alliance expedition crew exploring a cavern, until.....something causes everyone present to panic and run away from the tunnel while one of the Anti-Mats fires into the said tunnel. Things seem to have taken a turn for the worse as the Anti-Mat from which the data log came then destroyed the other Anti-Mat, then began firing onto the unfortunate humans. Not even hiding behind rocks was able to save them, as the machines' sensors were able to pinpoint their location. Just as Yasna thinks it's the end of the log, she realizes, much to her horror, that the last few entries include photos of her approaching the Anti-Mat. It was still active and aware of her presence. And when she exits the above mentioned tunnel at a later point, it finally wakes up and turns it's attention to her, as she (suffering from blinding headache caused by the microbots' electromagnetic pulse) stumbles and believes she's about to die. While it leaves her be for an unknown reason, the entire experience was harrowing to say the least.

  • The microbots themselves. Yasna encounters entire swarms of them at several points in the game, manifesting as frightening clouds of miniature machines, causing her splitting headaches and even to faint at few points, leaving her with short-term memory loss from the experience. The Alliance's expedition turned into a complete disaster once they seemingly made contact with these microbots, with most of their machines rendered inoperative or turned against them. The microbots' rampage reduced the entire crew of starship Condor to a small handful of survivors, all of whom suffered various degrees of degraded mental faculties. The most functioning one, Rohytra, sets out with Yasna back to his ship with the intent on exacting revenge against the microbots, believing that he will be able to destroy them with the Cyclops, an even more powerful, hovering version of an Anti-Mat. When the microbot swarm proves him wrong by eventually hijacking the machine, he opts for plan B: nuke the swarm. If the player/Yasna sides with him on this decision, he fires off the nuclear warheads in Condor's arsenal, which seems to work.....until he and Yasna witness the true extent of how much of Regis III is taken over by the microbots; A colossal swarm stretching far beyond the horizon begins to rise into the sky from all sides, forming a massive dome which blots out the sun and begins to approach the starship, intent on retaliation. Realizing her impending doom, Yasna orders her astrogator to get away from Regis III and tries to calmly sing as the cloud of microbots overwhelms the Condor and violently breaks in.
