Nightmare Fuel / Mimi and the Mountain Dragon

• During the Storybook Opening montage, we see images of an avalanche baring down on the village below and horror-struck villagers (including a mother and baby) being engulfed by the shadow of the impending avalanche.
• Mimi is initially spooked when she sees the baby dragon's shadow then by the creature itself.
• At one point, Mimi slips and slides down the mountain, the baby dragon manages to catch a branch with its mouth to save her.
• When Mimi finally encounters the Mountain Dragon, said dragon has her teeth bared, almost in the dragon equivalent of a Slasher Smile and looks ready to either kill or eat Mimi and actually chases her to the edge of the peak, only to stop when she starts humming.
  • The Mountain Dragon is still mad even after the final avalanche and only repents upon seeing Mimi mourning over the buried village.
• The final avalanche, it buries the entire village and sends Mimi sliding all the way back down the mountain. Luckily for her, she ends up buried in a small heap of snow on the roof of the village church, otherwise she would most certainly have been killed.
  • As for the rest of the villagers, it turns out they managed to seek refuge in the village church but they still would have been snowed in with no way out if the Mountain Dragon hadn't melted all the snow to save them.
• Even the Mountain Dragon melting the snow to save the rest of the villagers carries the risk of setting their houses on fire, no matter how careful she is, and even Mimi has to duck out of the way to narrowly avoid being burnt to a crisp at one point.
