You wouldn't expect a show called Supercute Adventures to have nightmare fuel, but it has its moments.
Examples:
- "Happy Campers": After listening to Badtz-Maru tell a spooky story, Keropi is asked by Hello Kitty to retrieve the graham crackers for smores from her car, meaning he has to walk through the creepy dark forest to do so. He hears a horrific snarling sound and returns empty handed. Then Badtz-Maru comes with, only to be scared off as well. Finally, Hello Kitty comes with them. They discover it's Pompompurin snoring... or is it?
- "Kuromi Takes The Plunge". Kuromi is intimidated by a tall water slide, which she envisions as a nightmarish tower against a dark sky with Ominous Clouds.
- "Beware the Night Librarian": Kuromi dons the mantle of the Night Librarian to have a Scare 'Em Straight moment with Badtz-Maru, who had unreturned books, and Keropi, who had reshelved a book in the wrong place.
- "Kuromi's Arcade Antics": Kuromi, Badtz-Maru, Keropi, and Pochacco find themselves stuck in a video game against a giant monster plant.
- "The Beanstalk": Several characters suggest climbing the eponymous beanstalk, only to be scared off by ominous thumping noises that they believe are the giant's footsteps.
