The first issue of Vexillum, released in March 2018.

Vexillum is a magazine published by the North American Vexillological Association, the world's largest organization dedicated to flags. The magazine is released quarterly, each issue with 32 full-color pages. Issues are mailed to members of NAVA. The magazine focuses on the study and news of flags, as well as other information related to NAVA. Articles are open to submission.

Vexillum began in March of 2018, replacing the publications Flag Research Quarterly and NAVA News by combining them together. NAVA's other publication is the annually released peer-reviewed academic journal Raven: A Journal of Vexillology.

Tropes:

  • Fictional Flag: A segment allows members of NAVA to submit flags they have designed to appear in the magazine.
  • Flag Drop: Various images in the magazine show people in front of flags.
  • Letter Motif: The flag of NAVA and most of its affiliates incorporate the letter V into their designs to represent vexillology.
  • More Popular Replacement:invoked The 2022 City Flag Survey, which the magazine covers, demonstrates that many of the new North American city flags are much more popular than the originals and were given considerably higher ratings than in the previous city flag survey.
  • Queer Colors: Pride flags have been discussed or have appeared in various issues.
