Why Is Snot Green? is a book by Glenn Murphy answering certain scientific questions he has received, in a similar vein to Randall Munroe's What If?. Told in a conversational format between a boy and Glenn's Author Avatar, it broaches subjects such as climate change, the advancement of robotics, and of course why snot is green. It has a sequel called How Loud Can You Burp?
This book provides examples of the following tropes:
- Ask a Stupid Question...: Averted. The questions are (mostly) given serious answers, despite some seeming obvious.
- Comically Missing the Point: From the child the professor is "speaking" with every once in a while.
- Toilet Humor: Pretty obvious from the title.
