Mario Galagos is going on winter break with his best friends and neighbors, Todd and Jewel Simms. Mario is excited because their vacation will be taking place in Vermont, which will have a lot of snow, something he has never seen before. Mario will also be meeting Todd and Jewel's grandparents, Grandpa Tweety and Mom Mom. But the grandparents are a little awkward to say the least, because they constantly speak of elves, trolls, and goblins. One day, when Mario notices some strange things going on around the home, namely a flash of green fur, he decides to investigate, but is he in over his head...?

- Cruel Twist Ending: It turns out that Mario was actually a goblin hunter the whole time, he infiltrated the winter break trip to capture the goblins who turn out to be Grandpa Tweety and Mom Mom. He defeats them with nutmeg, then has Mr. and Mrs. Simms drive him home, where he intends to take them into custody because they are goblins too. All's well that end's well.. except Mario overlooks one important detail too little too late. If their grandparents and parents are goblins, then Todd and Jewel must be goblins as well, which is indeed the case. The siblings promptly transform and tear him to pieces.
