A paranormal thriller book series by Timothy Noël released in 2012. The story centers around Russian siblings, Mashka and Aleksei Sharov, who find themselves the object of fascination of a secret organisation. Unnatural event occur and the siblings discover that they are the cause. Their new found powers, of questionable usefulness, interrupt their everyday lives as they are courted, and then chased, by a group known as "The Association."

Secrets are unmasked, and a bloody history of the jinn revealed.

They want out. They want to emerge. The Sixth Advent approaches.

Chrysalis Experiment contains examples of:

  • Always Save the Girl: Chekhov does this by rescuing Mashka and betraying his comrades.
  • Big Bad: The Administrator, for the first book. However, whoever is leading Sentinel might be the ultimate baddie because the epilogue.
  • Confusion Fu: The Czech and Aleksei both have this, the former because he can pass through walls, floors, and terrain, the latter because he can engulf an area in fog screen, as long as water is available.
  • Crosshair Aware: When things inexplicably get quiet or turn black, get away.
  • Elemental Powers: Aleksei uses water vapour, results in Elemental Baggage whenever he's indoors.
  • The Hero: Aleksei Sharov seems to fit this role and spends much of the book going to rescue his sister.
  • Parental Abandonment: Mashka and Aleksei mother has passed away, and they are not communicating with their father.
