The Adventures Of Nuktuk: Hero Of The South is the first mover ever created in the world. Produced by Varrick, its main purpose was as a propaganda piece to convince the United Republic of Nations and its president, Raiko, to enter the Water Tribes' civil war on the side of the south.
The plot revolves around Nuktuk (Bolin), a young waterbender from the south that is trying to rescue his girlfriend, Ginger, and stop the evil Unalaq from freezing the entire world. With him goes his trusted animal companions: Juji and Roh-Tan.
The Nuktuk movers became a immediate success in Republic City when they were shown in the Pro-Bending arena. But the last part was interrupted due to a terrorist attack that was later found to have been orchestrated by Varrick himself.
The Adventures of Nuktuk provides examples of
- Disney Death: Juji was killed during the attack to Unalaq's fortress, but he is revived at the end afterNuktuk destroys Unalaq's doomsday device.
- Eye Beams. Juji can throw lasers from his eyes, as seen when he broke Nuktuk's chains to release him.
- Gratuitous Animal Sidekick: Both Juji and Roh-Tan are two talking animals that aid Nuktuk in his adventures. It is said that Varrick specifically added them just to have something to appeal to kids.
