Ho Yay / Bokurano

• Ushiro and Kanji, in the manga. Ushiro even tells Kanji that Waku wasn't the only reason he stuck around despite not being in the contract, and Kanji realizes that it was for him.
• Maki and Komo. The two are long-time friends, and Maki's mother once jokes that Maki and Komo might be going out. Komo herself also notes that Maki looks quite attractive in the clothes Komo helped pick out. When Maki dies, Komo collapses, sobbing, even though most of the pilots are past the point at which losing one of them deeply impacts them, and continues to think about Maki some time after her death.
