Heartwarming / Wonderful Pretty Cure!

Go To

General

  • Many things from this show can be considered cute. Even before the show premiered, it already has a couple of wholesome things; from Komugi and Iroha's adorable bond, to the show's theme song literally having the word "daisuki"note , it's just absolute Sweet Dreams Fuel.
  • The fact the Cures act like zookeepers and volunteers at animal shelters, using as little threatening behaviour as possible when an animal starts to turn feral and aggressive, waiting until their anger is spent before bringing them under control and taking them to be looked at if needed, is a very positive message in a genre where it doesn't matter what a monster was originally, the only option is to bring it down as fast as possible without thinking about it's feelings.
  • In the first eyecatch, Komugi (as a dog) dreams of playing makeup (as a human) with Iroha.

Episode 1

  • Iroha adores all animals, greeting them warmly, even if the only one that fully understands her is Komugi.
  • When Iroha realises she needs to go to school early, her parents make her breakfast into a bento to take with her.
  • Just watching Iroha share a Secret Paw-shake with Komugi in an attempt to get her to trust she'll be back.
  • Komugi's primary reason for wanting to be human? She hates the anxiety of being away from Iroha, and wants to do everything she can with her, and if that means she needs to be a human... well, she'll be human.
  • Komugi transforming into a Precure to protect her master from a Garugaru.

Episode 2

  • When the wake-up scene from the first episode happens again, it reveals that Komugi is telling Iroha 'Good Morning!' before asking for her morning walk. At that moment, she seems more like a rambunctious younger relative who likes morning walks, instead of her dog.
  • Yuuko calls to Komugi and Iroha when Komugi is making a lot of noise, for Komugi to say, in a throwaway line, exactly which type of younger relative she sees herself as...
    Komugi: "Good morning, Mom!"
  • Komugi is able to do something that abandoned and/or abused dogs can't, however much they might want to...she tells Iroha exactly how much Iroha means to her, how much she's thankful that she saved her that day, and how much she appreciates that she was her dog, and is now practically her little sister...

Episode 3

  • While Mey Mey was initially against Satoru knowing about Nico Garden and the Garugaru, he is quick to accept him, since Satoru is willing to completely listen to him, unlike the Cures.

Episode 7

  • When Komugi ran away from home, she ran into Satoru, who temporarily took her in to help with her problems. In their conversation, he was able to talk her into having a proper conversation with Iroha, rather than assume her sister hates her.
  • At Iroha's side, she is waiting for Komugi to return, but ends up talking with Mayu, who gifts her a new walking harness, along with cheering her up by sharing how many problems she tends to have with Yuki, yet despite this continues to love her cat.
  • Before leaving Satoru and Daifuku to help Iroha, Komugi tells the former that Daifuku considers him a true friend.
  • Despite fear of the lion Garugaru, Komugi still comes to save Iroha. Before her transformation, she thinks about how kind Iroha is and helps anyone she can, including herself. This gives her the drive to save them along with Iroha, thus allowing Cure Wonderful to finally use the Friendly Wand along with Friendy.

Episode 9

  • Komugi is overjoyed when Satoru and Iroha give her the same surname as her sister, breaking into a massive grin.
  • Komugi's first experience with soccer is considered by her to be great fun, with her wanting to play it more, despite the fact she completely decimated the school's star player by being too good at catching balls.
  • After her first day at school, Iroha tells Komugi that school isn't a place to play, but to study, and that she needs to keep up with the tests to stay. Despite this, Komugi is still determined to stay with Iroha.

Episode 10

  • Mayu first met Yuki as a stray in a snowy village. While Mayu's father forbade her from touching Yuki, Mayu kept coming to her every day to talk to her, while occasionally leaving some clothing behind, which came in handy when Yuki used her hat to endure the snowstorm. By the time Mayu had to leave, Yuki came to her of her own accord, with Mayu happily adopting her.
  • Yuki smiling at the sight of Wonderful and Friendy purifying the Garugaru.

Episode 12

  • Why does Yuki become both a human and a Pretty Cure? Because she knows Mayu will be put at risk, and she will not let her come to harm.

Episode 13

  • Yuki spends a third of the fight with the Hedgehog Garugaru reaffirming her stance over Mayu, by managing to both fight the monster and keep Mayu from being harmed.
  • Yuki, in her own way, letting Friendy and Wonderful know she'll let them deal with the Garugaru their way, and only attack them if they threaten her or Mayu.

Episode 14

  • Iroha selflessly offering to have Mayu stay overnight at her home purely because she's terrified of going home without Yuki to protect her.
