Chapter 3: Opening Up
- The happiness Camila Noceda feels when she sees that her daughter Luz has made a group of friends who accept her for who she is. Camila personally thanked Anne for befriending her daughter and sent her a note thanking her for being Luz's friend.
- Camila Noceda and Oum Boonchuy bond over being immigrants, and when Oum learns that Camila's husband passed on, she offers her genuine sympathy and says that she can count on her for help despite just meeting her. Camila found a genuine friend in Oum like her daughter Luz found a genuine friend in Anne.
Chapter 4: Lessons Through Music
- Luz getting invited to join her friends' band. And while it's initially just a jam session, she impresses them enough that they make her a permanent member.
- The others praising both Luz's skill on her keyboard, and her song-writing.
- As a sign of how Luz's presence is already slightly changing the trio's toxic friendship, Anne and Marcy suggest changing the band's name to reflect her inclusion, and Sasha actually (if reluctantly) listens to them.
Chapter 5: Onward, to the Sleepover
- Luz having her first sleepover with her new friends.
- Marcy paying tribute to the late Akira Toriyama, with the other girls joining in.
- Luz and Marcy watching War of the Warlocks together, even after Anne and Sasha fall asleep. In contrast to canon, the latter is happy to finally have someone who shares her love of the movie.
