First film:
- Oona telling about Niko's father to him when they are both cuddled together in safe place under a tree, and when she tells her son, that he is the only man in her life now. Awww :).
- Julius, having lost his own family years ago, thinks of Niko as his new family. In return, Niko comes to see him as a surrogate father figure.
- Even after discovering his father, and having the opportunity to live with him, Niko chooses to return to his herd, with his mother and Julius.
- Saga always supports and encourages Niko, despite what the rest of the herd thinks of him. When he leaves, she is distraught, but hopeful that he will return. And when Niko finally does return, she gives him a kiss on the cheek.
The sequel:
- To his credit, Prancer is quite a good father to Niko, taking him along on the Flying Forces' training runs, and even trying to teach him how to achieve "Santa speed".
- Niko, who had continually rejected Jonni's notions of them being brothers, introduces him to Santa as his little brother.
- The final scene of the second film, wherein Oona gives birth to a doe, and Niko tells Jonni that they're both big brothers now. And Niko finally finds his "happy heart" and achieves "Santa speed".
