Heartwarming / Moomin (1990)

Go To

  • In "The Suitcase", when the Moomins give the Groke a heart-shaped seashell in exchange for the eponymous suitcase. While still scary to some, the way she lights up at the sight of the seashell and her genuine joy at receiving it is still somewhat heartwarming.
  • Ending of the episode "Snorkmaiden Goes Psychic"; Snorkmaiden looses her psychic power and Snork is a bit disappointed, because he really did want to know that will his airship be successful. Snorkmaiden replies that she doesn't need to have any psychic powers to see it, because she knows that Snork will succeed this time. Snork is so touched of her speech that he even tears up a bit.
  • "The Great Race" when Snork finally manages to get his airship fly.
Snork: I did it, I did it! At last I'm flying like a bird.
  • "Going South" has the scene where the Witch and Alicia are heading to the south with their broom. Soon they spot Snork who is flying on his airship, also heading to the south. He then waves at Alicia and she waves back. Snork and the Witch share a look at eachother and he then waves back and Witch just smirks. Given how these two had a rivalry about magic and science, it is sweet to see them parting ways in conciliation.
  • "Sand Sculptures" has a scene where Moomin and Sniff are sad that the rain will ruin everyones sand sculptures, but Snufkin reminds them that the sculptures will live on their memories. Then they all start reminiscence the sculptures.
  • Much of the absolutely gorgeous soundtrack for the series counts. Such standouts include "Chicks Take Off in Flight" (not its actual title, but it doesn't seem to have an official title), "Evening" and the ending song "Tooi Akogare".
