  • Regardless of Cale's previous decision to retire somewhere alone to slack of for the rest of his life, over the course of the series he slowly comes to warm up to people and works to protect them in his own way even considering them his people.
    • The most notable example of this is Ron despite his fear and dislike of him after he comes back with an arm missing, he works to kill whoever did that to him and goes beyond to try to find him a new one. The others even note that was the most incensed they've ever seen him.
  • Despite Cale's repulsion to torture, he made a point that he would watch Venion Stan be tortured for three days after all the torment he put Raon though despite assuring Cale doing that wasn't necessary. All so he could make sure Raon wouldn't be alone when watching it.
  • After everything they've gone through, both Choi Han and Rosalyn considers Cale and his mansion to be home.
Choi Han: I have a home, but I can no longer go there. However, I now have a new home. It is difficult to explain this feeling of no longer being forever alone.
  • Cale and his dad energy towards On, Hong, and Raon definitely counts. The longer you read the Novel, the more sweet moments you see of this. A couple examples of this includes Cale teaching them the importance of money, giving them an allowance, and you see the more the three of grow up the more they tend to share Cale's philosophies about laziness, slacking off, and protecting what's yours.
  • Cale conforts Lock and gives him a motivational speech where no matter if he's weak or not he'll never be a burden and they'll always be family after learning he temporarily forgot how to go Berserk.
Cale: It's okay, Lock. There are people around you. I left you here alone hoping that you could learn about a Wolf’s loneliness. However, I did not want it to be painful, I also did not want you to be scared. There is no reason for you to hurry.
  • When the Owner of the Fire of Destruction was only a child, he couldn't control his abilities well and accidentally burnt down the noble's paddy field. He would've been taken away if it weren't for his parents who were willing to scrap together all the money they owned in order to save him which was something they didn't even hesitate on doing.
Fire of Destruction [Narration]: His poor parents had worked hard to gather money, however, they were willing to spend all of that money for him.
  • Cale getting warm feelings after he sees how much Raon has grown up from when he first met him when he was four. Before the little dragon refused to share any food with people instead wanting it all for himself. Fast forward two years and he's more then willing to give out food and not hoard it all for himself.
  • The groups infuriated reaction towards Cale's nonchalant attitude towards his "supposed future death" definitely counts as this. Not only do they get viciously protective of him by spewing threats and swears towards the God of Death, they don’t even hesitate to agree to fight against the him if it means they'd save Cale which just shows how much they've all grown to care for him.
Alberu: And why the heck are you looking so lost like you have no idea what is going on? You're blinking your eyes like a cow when you were told that you were supposed to die? Huh? You got no damn sense at all. What the hell are you looking at?
