  • The waitress's treatment of Diana when hearing her story. Sure, Diana was lying, but from the waitress's perspective, she was helping a poor abused wife.
  • Diana turning herself in because she knew Sandy wouldn't go through with it himself. Then, a year later, Sandy and his family are in a new house, and while she's in jail, she's getting herself educated and Sandy even offers to hire her as part of the starter program at his new job. So everyone earned their happy ending.
