Heartwarming / 8 Mile

• Any moment Rabbit shares with Lily.
  • After fighting with Greg, Rabbit softens immediately once he saw Lily had laid witness. He doesn't like scaring his baby sister like that.
  • Singing her a lullaby after she’s woken up by the arguing between Rabbit and Greg.
  • Calmly but firmly telling her to go inside and not look back, knowing he's about to get beat up by the Free World.
• Rabbit's final moment with his mother, as they reach a mutual understanding, is a warm relief after all their angst.
• The bouncer giving Rabbit props after his first battle definitely counts. He started the film antagonizing Rabbit for being white but came around to respect him. It's a subtle moment, but powerful.
  • Similarly, if you look closely, you can see Lil Tic congratulate Rabbit after his battle with Lyckety. Lil Tic was the rapper at the beginning of the movie who made Rabbit choke. Bonus points for Lil Tic being played by Proof, Eminem's real-life childhood friend.
• Jimmy defending his gay co-worker Paul during a lunch line battle rap against a homophobic plant worker (a cameo by Xzibit).
• Rabbit cheering up Cheddar Bob after the latter accidentally shoots himself, by making up a small rap about Cheddar on the spot. He of course gets made fun of by Tha Free World group, but a little display of true friendship is always a breath of fresh air in a movie featuring more than one example of betrayal and violence respectively.
  • Speaking of true friendship, right before Rabbit's group gets into a physical altercation with Tha Free World prior to this, Cheddar shouts that he's got Rabbit's back while he faces off with the gang. It ends up being for the worse, but it's still nice to see the support on his end.
