     The Ordeal

  • When Miles gets arrested, the first thing he says, loudly enough so that the cops can hear it, was that Ashley did not know about the drugs and that he had kept it from her. While this may seem like a bit of exposition for the audience, it becomes apparent that Miles is making sure that the cops' attention stays on him rather than her, so Sean would not have to deal with both his parents being arrested.
  • "I braved the dangers of foreign ass to tell you I love you."

     The Rule of Three

  • When Sean kicks Ashley and Trish, several characters suggest physical punishment. The exception is Janelle, who simply suggests that Sean apologizes. He does, and you can see Ashley's heart melt when she sees the card Sean made for her and Trish.
  • Definitely a funny moment too, but at the end of the episode, when Earl is outside drinking his coffee and sees Sean come outside with a juice box tied around his ankle (to match Earl's ankle monitor). Earl can't help but crack a smile and the two share a toast.

     The Four Hustlateers

  • After he and Janelle finish their cook-off, Earl notices, during their conversation, that she is holding his hand. He does not address it further, but it clearly makes him happy.
  • At the end of the episode, when Ashley is going up the stairs, she stops to look at a picture of Collin and Miles hanging on the wall. She then looks down the stairs, and the audience sees a beautifully choreographed dance routine (with two dancers standing in for Collin and Miles), showing the fond memories that Ashley has of the two men and growing up in Rainey's house.

     Ghost Dad

  • It's a Tear Jerker moment too, but the moment in episode 6 when Ashley finally tells Sean where Miles is. Sean is clearly upset, especially when Ashley tells him how long his father is going to be gone, but Ashley assures him that Miles loves him, that they can call and visit with him, and that they will always keep him in their hearts. Ashley assures Sean that she loves him too, and the episode ends with them reading a bedtime story together.

     Seannie Darko

  • After a whole episode of the family trying and failing to cheer Sean up after the visitation with Miles ends badly, it's Earl who finally manages to make Sean smile (after Sean kicks him in the shin, no less) by playing with him. Ashley is touched, and she thanks Earl later on.
  • A mild example occurs when Carl, Trish and Jacquie's Jerkass boss, says he wants to become a partner in their fetish business. Trish clearly expects Carl to try to muscle in on the money, but he says he only wants to provide security, since the guards at the club are fond of the girls and would never let anything happen to them. He does ask for too large a profit percentage, but ends up bargaining himself down to much less.

     Bride or Die

  • Everyone remarking on how beautiful Ashley looks in her wedding dress.
  • The entirety of Ashley and Miles's discussion, especially his proposal at the end.
  • When their officiant bails, Trish discovers that she can become ordained online and immediately offers to officiate the wedding. Ashley is clearly touched, and Trish takes the role very seriously, even when she has to speed through the ceremony at the end of the visit before the guards kick them out.
  • When she is sitting in the waiting room, Ashley begins to have second thoughts about the wedding, wondering whether it's worthwhile to "double down" when things are at their worst for their family. Janelle immediately reassures her that that is exactly when she should double down, and that she and Miles are a strong enough couple to weather anything.
  • It's nice to see that Miles and Collin are still friends, despite the troubles they went through in the film, and the two exchange a nice phone call at the end of the episode, where Collin tells Miles that he'll be down to see him soon.
  • As Ashley is being lead out of the visitation by a guard, she shows Miles her "ride or die" tattoo, to which he gives a little smile.
  • The near-wordless montage of Earl working on the boat, taking in the sights and sounds of the bay and clearly relaxed. It all gets blown to hell by the end of the episode, but it's still nice to see him enjoying himself.
