Headscratchers / Tom and Huck

• Why did Tom reach for the map by starting from up near Injun Joe’s head and reaching down the length of his body rather than simply walking behind Joe at waist level and plucking the map quickly and easily out of his pocket?

• Tom says the treasure chest was too heavy so he had to dump out all the coins, but the chest was buried into the ground on all sides. How did he lift it out of the hole it was in so he could dump it out?
  • I know what you might be thinking, but he didn’t have time to scoop the coins out manually.
