Headscratchers / The Ritual

• So every worshipper or potential worshipper of the monster is marked with a puncture symbol relating to their trauma (Luke's is 5 puncture wounds, mirroring his last hallucination where it's him+Robert standing against Dom, Hutch, and Phil, symbolizing Luke's guilt) and the Witch's from what we can see appears to be a swastika, indicating her being victimized by the Nazis in some way. We get a split second glimpse of the blonde English speaker's mark (character credited as "Sara"), what was her trauma?
  • I don’t think the wounds relate to their trauma, the potential worshippers are just given wounds that vaguely describe the shape the hikers see earlier carved onto the trees; the symbol that looks sorta like an angular, up-facing Jesus fish. All three characters have the same symbol (which does look swastika-esque) but you can’t ever see it super clearly.
