  • Is it ever explicitly stated Bobby served in The Vietnam War? The photo of him is in front of snow-capped mountains (not found in Vietnam), his uniform appears to be the OG-106 of the late '50s and early '60s and his name tape is too big to be milspec. It could be miscellaneous service anywhere, such as Germany, Spain, Korea, really anywhere with snow-capped mountains. Plus, Charles Whitman didn't serve in Vietnam, he was discharged before then.
    • Not particularly in the film. There's also no indication of his age (he's clearly old enough to be able to be married), but he could have served in the Korean War or The Vietnam War (or, he could have served in another location and was not involved with either war). But besides the photo, the only other indication of him being involved in the military is the duffle bag he uses to haul his weapons cache.
