    Kraekan on the Island

Does the game ever gives an answer to what exactly the role of the Kraekan and their king Skouhz is on the island of the Nameless God? Are they infesting the place out of convenience? Are they allied with the Nameless God? Is he the actual source of the Kraeken or were they merely pulled there just like many other parts of the rest of the world were suddenly materialized on the island in a grotesque puzzle and filled with supernatural horrors?

    Ronin Cran

The setting, as with Dark Souls, seems to be predominantly focused on equivalents of Western Europe with tangential elements of other cultures. Cran, from what I've seen, looks like a typical armored knight, fights with a (snapped) greatsword and once served the lord of the Castle of Storms. So why he gets the moniker of Ronin, rather than "Masterless Cran" or "Vagrant Cran" (which are, in the end, both things that Ronin can mean).

  • The Kingdom might have been predominantly European, but with a Japanese bent, using Japanese terminology, or Cran might have been born in a Japan-expy, and after his exile was given the nickname as a reminder.
