• So if the Changing of the Tides ceremony was supposed to recharge Queen Calissa's ability to spin Merillia, does this mean that she can no longer spin it since she didn't participate in the ceremony?
  • This ceremony also opens up a Plot Hole- the entire kingdom should know Eris couldn't create Merillia. Look how young Calissa was when she got on the throne. She hadn't even had Merliah yet, based on what we saw of Merliah being given to Brake (where she looks just the same as she does in both movies, even though they could have used a different model in this movie). In fact, her being unable to spin Merillia is treated like Malucia's lack of magic in Barbie and the Secret Door during the first movie.
• Is there any reason why Merliah and Kylie can't go to the surface, have Merliah use the necklace to turn back into a mermaid, and give the necklace back to Kylie so that she can turn back into a mermaid?
• How did Eris and Alistair even know about Merliah's necklace and how it wouldn't be on Merliah's neck in order to lure Kylie into their trap?
• How can it be summer in both Australia and America at the same time? They wouldn't have spread the contest out for several months.
