• In "Charmed," Ariel chastises Flounder for sounding like her father after he urges her not to explore yet another forbidden area. As Ariel darts away, Flounder comments to himself that he might be a father someday, and then considers the possibility that he might have a daughter like Ariel. "No. That's too scary! Ariel, I don't want to order you around, but come back!"
  • Ironically, he does end up being one by the time of The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, but thankfully, not how he thought that time.
• "Thingamajigger" involves Atlantica being driven into hysterical chaos by a "thingamajigger" that is subsequently mistaken for a magical destructive weapon by everyone up to and including Evil Manta and King Triton (in reality, its mystical qualities were simply due to Sebastian getting stuck inside of it and making it move around, and its apparent nature as a weapon was just an unfortunate coincidence as a misfired cannonball struck the area where it was pointing). Said thingamajigger is a boot that fell off a ship, leading to some really silly moments like Evil Manta nearly conquering Atlantica... with only a boot, and then being foiled because Ariel comes back with a pair of "thingamajiggers" that once belonged to Prince Eric.
• In "Beached" Ariel and Arista use a cannonball to knock over a pair of thieving gators. The humor comes from Ariel yelling "Strike!" Afterwards to the bewilderment of her sister and Sebastian. She lampshades it afterward.
  It just felt like the right thing to say.
