• When discussing what options Luz has in her duel with Amity, Eda starts saying that it's not like having Luz use a glyph with her shadow aura out will do anything, only to realize that they hadn't actually tried that yet.
• When Luz learns that Eda and Lilith are related, her shock causes her to interrupt Hunter's pre-duel speech, so he loses his place and tells them to just start the duel.
• Luz's coffee is the source of a few jokes:
  • Eda claims that you can stain wood with it. Also, King apparently tried it once and spent 10 minutes twitching on the floor.
  • Luz jokingly prays to Loki when making it. A later chapter reveals that he told Vee, who was disguised as Luz at the time, that the coffee is an abomination and that he couldn't do anything about it.
• Gus distracting coven scouts with an Old Man Henderson illusion.
• When Luz finds out that Amity purrs, she's delighted.
• Neither Odalia or Mephisto have a high opinion of Knull, the former calling him a "warlock" after being told of his origin and motivations, and the latter agrees that Knull was an edge lord, the human version of the term.
• Luz annoying Jacob by singing songs from The Pirates of Penzance.
• When Luz reveals that Magik is her favorite X-Person, not only does Amity get a little confused by the name, when Luz explains that "She's a bisexual icon who got stranded in a demon dimension as a teenager and emerged wielding powerful magic", Amity lampshades the similarities with Luz herself. Luz defends it as a coincidence with complete seriousness, then adding on that she's "pretty sure" that Magik isn't half space alien. Betsy Braddock also asks who the first is with mock seriousness when Luz says that she's Luz's second favorite X-Person.
