- The CEL agents mounting frustration with the French maid due to her inability to break character and admit she's a Synth. Eventually, they reprogram her with the Genki Girl personality of Cheffie.
- Said maid even gets press-ganged into being Lao's temporary CEL partner, and then gets uploaded into an armor-piercing turret. All with Cheffie's overly-cheerful personality.
- When playing as Regis or Lao, you can call your partner at any time. Even if they're in the same room as you, which gets an amusing confused remark from said partner.
- The entire concept of maladism - intentionally infecting yourself with "safe", wetware-induced diseases and neurological disorders as a countercultural statement - is so bizarre that Lao makes a "kids these days" remark about it, before realizing to her horror that she sounds just like Regis.
- During the final confrontation with the Mindjacker, he has an entire dialogue tree's worth of taunting for Regis, and a few lines of taunting for Latha, but when confronted with Max his response is simply "I'm sorry, who are you again?"
- The street preacher who denounces the evil of Trance addiction, and insists he has to save Latha by showing her all the delights of God's creation. Meaning drugs. When Latha is sceptical, he insists that replacement is an effective therapy for substance abuse.
Preacher: "We must make use of His blessings! And I have been blessed with excellent barbiturates!"
