• Vada pretending to be sultry after she tries makeup for the first time. Thomas J. just wonders why her lip is "bleeding".
• When a couple of girls start teasing Vada over her friendship with Thomas J. and saying they've probably kissed:
  Vada: "You think I'd kiss that ugly old thing?!"
  Thomas J.: "Yeah, anyway-" (Realises what Vada just said and looks hurt)
• After their kiss, Vada asks Thomas J. to say something because it's "too quiet". Unable to think of anything else, he recites the Pledge of Allegiance, and Vada joins in.
• Vada yelling out "Bingo!" and kicking off a fight between two cranky old men who were playing the game.
  "If you weren't 200 years old, I'd kick your wrinkled ass!"
• Vada's reaction to Thomas J. during her first period is to shove him and tell him to go away..."And don't come back for five to seven days!"
• Vada's Uncle Phil reaction to his brother walloping Shelly's ex in the gut... "Your Father's a savage!"
