• The Disease:
  • After Gumball and Darwin are given permission to take Mx. Small to the hospital, we get this:
    Gumball: *as he and Darwin exit the infirmary with Mx. Small* Come on, this is crazy. *they make it out of the school* Is anyone at the airport actually going to believe this? *they enter the airport* I mean, we’re two kids accompanied by an adult who can hardly walk straight *they board the plane* How are we even going to make it to Nevada, let alone Canada?
    Darwin: Dude, we’re already on the plane.
    Gumball: Really? *looks around* Man, I really need to stop taking such long pauses in my monologues.
  • The Lampshade Hanging of a couple of improbable points:
    • First, Gumball gets him, Darwin and Sophie onto a bus by grabbing them, leaping towards the bus, miraculously getting inside, dropping three passes into the slot, and getting all three of them safely into seats. Darwin asks how Gumball did that and Gumball responds with "I don’t know, I just got the energy when I saw the bus."
    • Then, after the situation is resolved, Gumball says they need to get back to Elmore which cues this:
      As soon as he finished saying it, the universe launched him, Darwin, Mx. Small, and Sophie into the air and over the continent, with them screaming all the way. They all landed in a pile back in the corridors of Elmore Junior High.
      Darwin:...Well, that was anticlimactic
      Mx. Small: I even got my clothes back. *they're back in their tie-dye and bell bottoms, rather than the mint-green hospital gown. Then they realize the implications of that and blush You kids didn't see anything, did you?
      Gumball: Trust me, Mx. Small, we've seen you wearing worse things.
