This bit from "Angels and Demons":

Kirk: After all, to seek out new life and new civilizations is our mission. To boldly go where no man has gone before.
Spock: A split infinitive, Captain.
Kirk: ...What?
Spock: The proper grammatical expression is "to go boldly, where no man has gone before."
Kirk: Somehow, I think it loses a little in the translation.

From the episode "Voids". Where Spock is captured by a mysterious alien. Kirk, along with Chekov and Sulu, are trying to figure out what to do next, leading to this:

Kirk: I could use some advice. Suggestions anyone? Spo...
Sulu: I know Captain, we miss him too.

How well does it match the trope?
