• The film begins with a pageant commercial that abruptly cuts away to the title theme for Days of Our Lives. Then it turns out this is in the middle of an assembly, and Gladys angrily hisses at her sidekick for recording her favorite soap opera over an official tape.
• Leslie telling her father "You know what, Dad? Peter's gay!" (Beat) "GAY!!!"
• Becky's talent performance. How can someone so devout come up with something so blasphemous?
• Tess earnestly tells the camera crew about an old injury and then says "they remade my belly with skin from my butt!"
• Tammy proclaiming "I'm a winner. Nobody can stop me but me." Cue explosion.
• The sugary-sweet nurse who tries and fails miserably to cheer up Annette and Loretta.
  Do you think a nice cool mint will help if I shove your head up your ass?
• Two teenage boys try making a music video in the trailer park where Amber and her mother live. Just as they're about to start playing, Amber's trailer explodes in the background.
• Amber's dance costume managed to avoid being incinerated solely because her neighbour's dad is clearly a stalker.
• After Annette's injury, Amber (who works at a funeral home) tells her mother "Mom! I'll be right behind you in the hearse!"
• Loretta quips "She had a big ass then, she's got a big ass now," as Gladys brags about her old pageant costume.
• Becky's obvious attempt at a publicity stunt when she visits anorexic Mary at the hospital.
  Mary: Who are you?
  Becky: Who are you? Oh, Mary, you kill me! (To the camera) She always says that. It's a little game we play, every week, same dippy little look on her face, "Who are you? Who are you?" Just like that. It's me, Becky. Mmmm, and I brought your favourites. (Gives Mary a box of chocolates)
  Amber: Real nice, Becky, she's anorexic.
  Becky: (Covering Mary's ears) She's skinny, Amber, not deaf.
• The Vilmes Brothers got a contract to paint the pageant props and did so right before the dance competition, causing the contestants to get paint smeared all over their clothes and skin as they try to act like nothing is wrong.
