The plot doesn't take itself too seriously, and the video as a whole is a major source of Narm Charm. That aside, a few of the individual gags are genuinely funny.

Clue - The VCR Mystery Game

    Chapter 1: The Will
  • Right out the gate in scene 1, Miss Scarlet is seen talking on the phone with her employer in a hushed tone before cutting the receiver wire. The camera then pans over to Brunette and Mustard, who, oblivious to her or each other, independently also disconnect the lines. It sets the tone rather quickly.
  • Shortly after, Sergeant Gray wanders around, meeting the others:
Gray: [approaching Green] I hear you're in business. What kind?
Green: None of your business. [fishes in his jacket] My card.
[Green hands Gray his business card, and a close-up reveals it simply reads "Lyman Green: Business."]

  • The will-reading gets underway, with Brunette revealing that Mr. Boddy made up a new will after suspecting his friends of trying to kill him. This baffles the suspects when the new will reveals they're all still his legal heirs despite this.
Peacock: It's nice to know he didn't hold a grudge.

  • When the Tontine clause is revealed, Miss Peach remarks on her advantage as the youngest in the room, clearly Tempting Fate as Mrs. Peacock holds up the murder mystery she's reading, shutting her up.
  • The Kitchen/Dinner sequence is basically what happens when everyone in the story has Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Hilarity Ensues. It starts when Absent-Minded Professor Plum leaves his poison unattended. In no particular order...
    • Miss Peach very quickly pours poison into the table salt shaker,
    • Mrs. Peacock drops some in the white wine decanter,
    • Miss Scarlet steals some and deposits it in the red wine decanter,
    • Col. Mustard steals some and poisons every bowl of soup at the table except his own,
    • and it's implied that Mrs. White herself poisoned the salad.
  • And then at dinner...
Plum: That poison that I was working with in the Kitchen- n-now I felt sure I brought along a full canister.
Peacock: Perhaps you brought a half-empty canister instead.
Mustard: [shaking salt into his soup] Well, there's your answer!
Plum: No, no, it was completely full just a half-hour ago and now it's empty...
[Everyone, mere seconds from digging into their first course, drops their silverware in unison and leans back in their chairs, acting nonchalant at the realization that they all had the same idea.]

  • Things don't get better during the main course. Mrs. White is oddly insistent about Madame Rose getting a particular plate, and a cryptic remark leads the guests to believe it's safe from poison. Naturally, it gets switched around, until Rose makes an offhanded remark about White usually hating her.
Rose: I'm surprised she hasn't tried to kill me... [Beat, looks down at her plate] oh dear...
[The plates once again get switched around]
Peach: Does that mean the rest of us can eat? I've lost track!

    Chapter 2: The Search
  • Mrs. White, on learning the will has been destroyed, angrily storms off...
[angrily slams an empty poison bottle on the mantlepiece] Now I have to recook breakfast!

  • A news bulletin comes on the TV about a "notorious sneak-thief and suspected husband-killer" in the area. Everyone slowly turns to look at Peacock, who calmly throws a candlestick through the screen.
  • In the Library, as Brunette prepares the second will, the guests are seen to be slowly losing their minds with the combination of isolation and suspicion, practicing with their weapons and giving each other wary glances. In the middle of it all, Mrs. White is having a nap.
  • Mrs. White's actress is clearly having fun Chewing the Scenery in Scenes 3 and 4, especially during her monologue about her secret lovechild.
  • This quick one:
Peacock: Just what did this baby look like?
White: Well... it was small.

  • And of course, when Miss Peach poses as the lost child...
Green: It's been nice knowing ya.

  • Madame Rose does psychic readings in the Hall, foreshadowing a few dark secrets and leading to a few gems.

Rose: [with Miss Scarlet's cigarette holder] Ohhh... you're not a very good knitter.
Scarlet: [indignant] How dare you!?
Rose: And you're an enemy spy!
Scarlet: [shrugs smugly] So?
[...]
[Mrs. Peacock takes off one of her rings and hands it to Rose.]
Rose: [handing it back, offended] This isn't yours!
Peacock: Sorry. Um... [looking down at herself] I don't think I have anything on me that's mine.
Rose: ...You're a sick woman.
Peacock: You're no prize.

  • The Seance. Madame Rose gets an unexpected early success in contacting the other side when a voice echoes from beyond the grave. It speaks directly to Peacock, before cryptically announcing "Toadstools..." context
Peacock: [whispers] It's my second husband, tell him I'm not here.

    Chapter 3: The Secrets
  • After the events of the last act, Col. Mustard and Mrs. Peacock enter the library together, respectively holding a knife and a revolver at each other's backs. Upon learning Miss Peach has destroyed the second will, they both declare a truce and withdraw their weapons.
  • "Stop winking at me, you oversexed Frenchman!"
  • Upon diverting a psychotic Gray, Colonel Mustard leads everyone to barricade in the Dining Room. Because he was sitting on the ground, Mr. Green exits the Conservatory desperately shuffling on his knees.
  • Rose: Boddy family is perfectly normal! I'm going to kill you for that- kill all of you! [gathers up several weapons and leaves, cackling.] You all deserve to die!
  • The final scene: Chaos has unfolded, with everyone having sufficiently cracked under the pressure, chasing each other around the house with weapons... and Didit's just tidying the Hall in the midst of it.
