• In the myth of the Five Suns the gods get upset at Tonatiuh (the latest sun god) for not moving across the sky unless they sacrifice themselves like he did. In one version Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli gets the brilliant idea of throwing an ice atlatl at the sun. Not only he is completely unaffected but retaliates by burning him alive.
• In general, the Five Suns myth can come off as pretty funny to modern audiences given its resemblance to a group project where no one's doing the work properly.
