- Tom van Ophorst throwing a temper tantrum and literally jumping up and down in frustration while swearing "Damnit,damnit, FUCK!" while being dressed as Sinterklaas—like Santa Claus, that character is supposed to be very child-friendly and even-tempered.
- An elderly man who played Sinterklaas meets a younger man who was about to get married but walked away from the altar at the last minute:Kees: I ran away from my own wedding...Elderly man: Why? You didn't love her enough?Kees: I've never loved anyone anymore.Elderly man What's her name? [Assuming Kees' lover is female]Kees: Victor.Elderly man: O. [Beat]. Yeah, right, of course.
So much involving Kees' LARPing:
- When Victor, called in by the friends Kees LARPs with, about some unclear incident involving Kees, asks them to clear it up, they start the explanation fully in their LARPing terms / characters, but Victor isn't into that at all and it goes over his head:Sjoerd: The Baron of Ulsendeck made an alliance with the Poison Maker from Galandrio, and then the Wood Elves leaked the info... [Victor makes a "get to the point" look] ...well sure, that was all very unfortunate—but then Kees beat the living daylights out the Baron of Ulsendeck!
- And then Kees' LARPing friends try to tell Victor that Kees is using LARPing "to escape from reality", while they are fully dressed-up as their LARP characters; Victor's "Man, look at yourself" look while they try to do so is priceless.
- Kees when dressed up as his LARP character wears bright pink rubber boots; very 21st century and doesn't match the rest his outfit at all, which makes the combination look ridiculous (the other LARPers wear fantasy boots to match their outfit).
- After Kees has run off from his wedding and an upset Victor calls him and Kees announces he'll [stay at Sjoerd's for the moment:Victor: Are you fucking the Hobbit?! [N.B. None of the LARPing characters shown in the movie look anything like Middle Earth characters...]
