Funny / A Certain Droll Hivemind

  • Misaka-11111 is stuck in Academy City in the rainy season. Misaka-10901 is in Hawaii, drinking pina coladas on the beach and surfing. 11111 hates 10901.
  • Hearing about 10901's pina coladas, 11111 goes out into the rain to get coconut and pineapple, then comes back and puts them in the blender. The blender breaks. This makes her flatmates angry. 11111 then has to go out into the rain again to get a new blender to keep her flatmates from murdering her.
    They do not blend.
Misaka-15092 informed me that she told me so.
  • 11111 mentions that electromasters are the most common type of esper, so there's no reason to connect her to Misaka Mikoto. She's including the Sisters in that statistic.
  • 11111 forgets her lunch one day. She is convinced she is going to die of starvation, which she is especially upset about because no Misaka has ever died of starvation. The rest of the Network finds her whining extremely annoying, but eventually 10032 throws some sandwiches over the fence for her. Except she ate one and a half of the sandwiches first, which 11111 complains about for the entire rest of the fic.
  • Since Mikoto has given the Sisters instructions to avoid Kuroko without explaining why, they all think she would murder them all for Level Grinding if she found out about them. Mikoto and Touma both agree separately that it's a good enough explanation.
  • Sumiko explains that one of the boys across the hall from 11111 has the power to... be really good at housework. He's a Supreme Chef to the point that he can turn an old tire into a banquet, and he can fold shirts and shoes really well ("Yes, he folds the shoes flat"). She notes that the teachers clearly just use the power assessment as an excuse to eat his food.
I stared at her. Looked up at the ceiling. Looked down at the floor. "'I do not understand,' Misaka says," I said. That power made no sense, and polling the Network, we agreed that it made no sense. "'That makes no sense.'"
  • When Yui goes up to talk to Touma, he assumes she's Mikoto and drags her off by the hand before she can explain. He is confused, since she's not wearing the Tokiwadai uniform.
"'I am not Misaka Mikoto. I am Misaka-11111,' Misaka repeats," I tell him again.
"But you're wearing different clothes," he protests. He does not appear to understand that we have the capacity to wear clothes that are not Misaka Mikoto's school uniform. We are not sure if Kamijou Touma has ever approached Misaka Mikoto when she is on her way to school under the impression that she is one of us. Statistically, if you see someone who looks like Misaka Mikoto wearing the Tokiwadai uniform, you should assume that they are a member of the Network. The chance that they are the original can be discounted as statistical noise.
We suspect he would probably realise his mistake quite quickly. The original would probably not appreciate it.
  • Mikoto encounters the last descendant of the old dragonslayers, a girl born and bred to fight dragons. Mikoto, who of course still doesn't know about magic, dryly notes that she's never seen a dragon. The girl says that her great-grandfather killed the last one, which Mikoto calls "convenient."
Hamida: Do you know how boring things are when you're part of a super-powerful bloodline born of one of the Saints and made to kill dragons but your ancestors managed to wipe them all out? It's super-boring, trust me.
  • The Network gets into an argument over what type of bird a magician summoned using her own blood.
More blood spurts from her hands than the human body has within it. It takes form as some kind of bird. It is apparently made of gold, but it drips blood. This does not make sense. The human body does not contain giant gold blood-covered birds with glowing eyes within the bloodstream. It is probably a severe medical condition. No wonder she is in a bad mood.
We cannot identify the species of bird. Some of the Network believes it to be a raven. Others believe it to be a magpie. A minority holds it to be a crow.
I have motioned that the precise species may not be important right now, but I am substantially outvoted. The Network wishes me to enquire as to the nature of the avian.
I will do so. When I have time.
  • Touma destroys the blood construct and the magician is dragged away, so the Network is annoyed they can't ask what kind of bird it was.
  • 11111 gets into a Suggestive Collision with Touma. 11111 does not understand why Touma's face is all red, and apologizes for bruising his face with her chest. 10032, meanwhile, eagerly offers to swap places with 11111.
  • When the blood construct explodes, it covers everyone in blood, except for Touma. When Mikoto asks what that's about, he just shrugs and says it was magic blood. Even the Sisters find that explanation odd.
I stare at Kamijou Touma. Misaka-10032 stares at Kamijou Touma. Misaka Mikoto stares at Kamijou Touma.
"... hate you so much," Misaka Mikoto mutters.
