The Red Herring guy who everyone assumed to be Angela's killer was serving in the army in some Middle-Eastern country at the time of the murder. But he did brag about raping and torching someone in that very period, with company, meaning he's a war criminal and there are more of his kind at large, possibly still in the field.
Willoughby‘s terminal cancer meant that even if he hadn’t committed suicide, his wife and their kids will still have ended up widowed and fatherless, respectively. Only it would have been much slower and much more painful as he succumbed to his cancer.
