In the two episodes notable for their sincerely happy endings, Moguro simply helps the clients help themselves with completely mundane help. Koh Arao is given a seed starter kit for a Eucalyptus tree that he cares for with love and diligence to fulfill his desire to care for something. Bon Fukumizu is told point blank how he should get a divorce and while he is taken to the club by Moguro, it appears to just be a normal if fancy singles cruise where he meets someone himself and forms a connection. Both end up sincerely happy and punishment free because both were willing to put in the work themselves rather than let a stranger hand them some magical device to fix the problem for them. Rather than something magical that only the devil could provide, both were provided with something normal and a task to complete themselves.
Meta-example. The original Laughing Salesman series from the late 80's and early 90's was incredibly popular for its time. However, Japan's culture and economy has changed so significantly since the original airing that, when the revival series came out in the 2010s, it was ironically the worst selling anime of all time. What was once an iconic character in Japanese popular culture has now fallen into obscurity. Almost like it was a curse placed by Moguro himself.
